LUMIERE

Dry white wine

Lumière is our luminous light-house : balanced, serene, saline and elegant; the lively subtlety of the Palomino grape. Its grapes come from our best plot: La Platera, located on a gentle hill in the « Pago » Miraflores, facing west, with calcareous subsoils of mother rock albariza « tosca » at two meters deep. It stands out for its harmony, sumptuousness in the mouth, floral aroma and gunpowder notes, typical of a large Pago. Wood, soil and fruit are presented harmoniously united.

José Peñín (Guía Peñín)

“Lumière 2021: Full-bodied, oily, complex, with refreshing acidity and the evocation of chalk, wild herbs and fallow straw (99 points)”

James Suckling (James Suckling Guide)

« Elixir 2025 (96 points) is in the top 100 Spanish wines of 2024. A pure moscatel de Chipiona with aromas of orange blossom and brine, as well as ginger undertones. Medium-bodied, luminous and energetic, with a delicate saline profile ».

Luis Gutierrez (Robert Parker)

Lumiere 2022 is the one with more purity, elegance and subtleness ; very good intensity, precise, clean and detailed (95+ Parker points)

Luis Gutiérrez – Robert Parker (Spain)

“I love the finesse and elegance of the Lumière 2018, a subtle palomino from old vines at the La Platera vineyard in Miraflores Baja (95 puntos Parker).”

José Peñin – Guía Peñin (Spain)

“Lumière 2019 is straw-colored; complex aroma with notes of cereal, dry stone, toasted bread; fleshy, tasty, elegant mouthfeel (96 points).”

Dan Keeling – Noble Rot

“Far from modern ‘technical’ winemaking, Muchada learnt his métier from Sanlúcar’s humble elder vignerons, with his and Léclapart’s pure, saline ‘Univers’ and ‘Lumière’wines (both in the Top five).”

Darren Smith – Decanter

“Muchada puts a huge amount of effort into farming, learning from the old generation of Sanlúcar viticultors to produce Palomino of the highest quality, which he expertly transforms into the most pure and crystalline of wines (97 points).”

Jancis Robinson MW (Financial Times)

“It is tempting to wonder which wines currently being launched on the market may develop massive reputations, and even become cult wines. I would like to nominate the Andalusian wines of Muchada-Léclapart“.

Luis Gutierrez – Robert Parker – (Spain)

“I loved the 2017 Lumière, that somehow made me think of the white topped-up wines from Jean-François Ganevat in the Jura, with a superb palate, round and balanced.”

Sarah Jeans Evans. Master of Wine (England)

“The bonus (of Lumière 2018) is that without the usual influence of flor or solera, you can taste the terroir…. A delicately honeyed wine with drifts of jasmine and a clean, saline finish“.
