Biodynamic agriculture and the making of vigneron
Great wines are made in the vineyard
Muchada-Léclapart are proudly vignerons, The winegrowers based on traditional know-how and an understanding of the rhythms of the soil and the vineyard. They work all their vineyards in biodynamic and certified organic agriculture..
They permanently seek to promote living soils with minimal intervention in soil tillage, with shallow ploughing, animal traction and small tractors that allow the soil's micro-organism layers to be maintained.
They do not use chemical fertilisers and use only compost, based on the understanding that it is the plant that must forage for its own food, while the farmer's real task is to nourish the soil.
All these considerations lead them to achieve quality, concentration and harmony of the palomino grape., even if it means lower yields than usual in the area. This allows the character and subtle elegance of the well-worked palomino vines and the unique identity of each plot to shine through.
